ABYF 2021 Board Members:
President: Jayson Gambino
Jayson has been a Coach for the past 13 years starting way back when his son Dakota started flag football. He has coached football, baseball, and softball over the years. This is his 2nd year as President of the board. Jayson loves ABYF and coaching so much he has remained involved even after his children have moved on from the Football / Cheer program. Jayson is an avid Alabama and Bills fan, Roll Tide!! and Go Bills!! Teaching skills and team-work, supporting children’s growth in their skills as well as life lessons, encouraging the love of sports, and seeing the shared joy and enthusiasm for the game are all reasons why he coaches youth sports. Jayson wants to thank all of the Board Members, Coaches, Parents, and Community Sponsors for being a part of this great organization. We wouldn’t have such a great program without you all!!! GO AVON BRAVES!!!!
Vice President: Amanda Church
Amanda has lived in Avon for 19 years and has been part of the ABYF Board for 8 years. She has 4 children, Zoe (18 years old), Ava (16 years old) and both Noah and Nora who are 9 years old!
Secretary: Sarah Nardi
This is her second year on the Board but is no stranger to the program as she is an Avon Alum and now has children in our Senior Program!!
Treasurer & Flag Cheer Assistant Coach: Jennifer Clark
Born and Raised in Buffalo, NY. I was a Buffalo Jills Cheerleader, Buffalo Bombshell Cheerleader and have coached for the West Seneca Youth Cheerleading and Avon Youth Cheerleading Programs. I love Cheer and have been doing it since I was 5 years old! On my downtime, I love hanging out with my two boys Evan and Ethan by going to the beach or hanging out by the pool. I will Be graduating from Finger Lakes Community College with an accounting degree this fall. As the Treasurer she makes sure the programs taxes are done, keeps track of all Income/Expenses and balances the accounts monthly.
Equipment Coordinator: Nikkia (Nikki) Bermudez
Born in Rochester, NY and grew up in Brockport, NY. I am a sports enthusiast and a devoted Buffalo Bills fan. I went to Bishop Kearney and received my Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from SUNY Brockport. I am married to my wife, Heidi, and we have one son. I coached flag football for ABYF in previous years. I look forward to helping the Braves in any way I can for a successful season.
Football Registrar: Ashley Cullinan
About Ashley: Ashley has been a mainstay over the last 11 years with our program. This year she joined the board as the football registrar and successfully got all of the ABYF books certified. As the Football Registrar Ashley has the responsibility of making sure every athletes’ paperwork is turned in, correct and up to date. She sets the official rosters and presents them and the supporting paperwork to the CYFL for certification. This process is required in order for ABYF to participate in any games and to be covered by the program’s insurance.
League Rep: Nate Potter
My name is name Nathan Potter. I have coached 3 sports at different levels, including baseball at the T-ball level, coach pitch, minors, and majors, wrestling, and football at the Jr. tackle level. This year for football I will be adding flag and senior tackle to that list. I coach because I enjoy teaching kids the sports but more importantly all the life lessons that come with them.
Fundraising Coordinator: Open
They will be responsible for selecting and purchasing ABYF merchandise and promoting revenue for the organization through donations and sponsorships.
Concession Coordinator: Jessica Walworth
As the Concession Stand Coordinator, you are required to make sure all Health Department requirements are completed and set for the season. You are responsible for the selection & purchasing of all the food and beverages for all the home games. You also coordinate the operation of the concession stand on game day.

About Misty: I have gone to school in Avon from 4th to 11th grade! I graduated from Livonia and moved back to Avon 16 years ago! I have been a flag cheer coach for 8 years and I just made the big move to cheer coordinator and this will be my fourth year. I have two Avon Braves my daughters Kendra (14 years old) and Sophie (9 years old). Very excited for this season!!
Volunteer Coordinator: Heidi Bermudez
About Heidi: Heidi grew up in Avon and just recently moved back after living in Fairport for 15 years. Heidi got involved with ABYF to help make sure there was a program for our kids to try football in their younger years.
Player Safety and Medical Coordinator: John Handel
I moved to Avon with my family, my wife Rebecca, our kiddos Cami, John, Grace, and Sophie in 2016 and completely fell in love with the community of Avon and Livingston County. I am an addictions medicine therapist at URMC and feel so lucky to serve my community. Apart from football I help coach wrestling and girls on the run.
My reason for coaching and serving on the board is to help train, advise and help cultivate great sportsmanship that will transition to lifelong skills as well as ensuring our players and coaches have everything they need should a medical emergency arise.
Flag Football and Pee Wee Tackle Coordinator: Chad Sherman
Fairly new to Avon, my family came from Geneseo where I spent several years coaching flag, Jr. and Sr. football. I am married and we have 6 children. We are pretty hardcore Buffalo Bills fans!!! We are excited to start our adventure with the Braves!!!
